Magnificent and extremely rare brass fireplace screen, dating from the 19th century (circa 1890), by the Bouhon Frères company. Until 1898, Bouhon Frères specialised in fireplaces and bronze accessories. Awarded at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle by the international jury for their screens and andirons, Thomas and Joseph Bouhon received the gold medal. Their pieces are now rare and highly sought after by collectors! This Art Nouveau fireplace screen consists of 4 fully foldable panels. It can be placed in front of the fireplace as quickly as it can be stored away! It is stamped "FB" on the back of the screen. It has been intentionally left in its original condition, with numerous signs of use and age that testify to its history and authenticity: the brass will need a little cleaning if you wish for it to be very shiny. The mesh is original, so it has marks, dirt, and signs of wear... It could be restored by a professional or left as is, with its marks from the past! It must have witnessed many long evenings by the fire, so now it’s your turn to create lovely memories with it! 👉 Please keep in mind that this is a genuine antique item; it has traces of time and imperfections that make it a unique object with a story! Thank you for carefully looking at the photos, as they are part of the product description! If you would like more, I would be happy to provide them! Total dimensions: 133 cm long / 62 cm high max. Dimensions of the fully folded screen: 33 cm long / 62 cm high. Total weight excluding packaging: 2.7 kg. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions; I would be delighted to respond!.
