Pair of mahogany chairs model Plexus by Illum Wikkelso for C.F. Christensen in Silkeborg

Pair of mahogany canne armchairs by Illum Wikkelso (1919-1999), interior designer and designer renowned for the lines of his seats, such as this Plexus model, designed in 1970, particularly comfortable and enveloping. The seating and back cushions are covered with a floral cloth. The seats, originally supported by rubber straps, which age very badly over time, have been reinforced by new straps. These chairs are in excellent condition. They are both labelled by the Danish furniture manufacturer Carl Frederik Christensen (1876-1962), installed in Silkeborg in the early 1950s and closed in 2002, the main publisher of Illum Wikkelso's furniture.
