Foot stool in chromed metal, seat in Formica 60s

The stool is in very good condition, it is stable and solid. The legs are made of chromed metal, and are screwed under the formica seat. All the screws are present. The welds are not broken. The stool has retained its four original small rubber pads at the tips of the feet. Formica® is a material invented in the united states in the early twentieth century. Initially it is used as an electrical insulator to replace mica, hence the origin of its name: "for" (for, instead of) "mica". Quickly spotted for its qualities and ease of handling, it entered the world of decoration in the 30s. In france, it arrives at the same time as nylon and chewing gum... Note that the chrome of the feet, in very good condition, is however slightly patinated. Very nice color of formica here blue "pool" typical of the late 50s. The stool dates from the 60s.
