Art Nouveau pie server, dating from the late 19th century or very early 20th century. Features 2 hallmarks. (See photos) Blade in vermeil: openwork and hand-engraved decoration of vegetal scrolls, intertwined vines, and flowers. This fine cutting work served both aesthetic purposes and to prevent cakes from sticking to the blade during serving. The handle: in silver-plated metal with a floral style, typical of French silver-plated handles from this period, adorned with relief garlands of flowers.
