Important carved and gilded wood mirror, preserved in its beautiful original patina. The frame is adorned with an elegant pearl rim, deep grooves punctuated by crisscrossing ribbons. It is topped with an exceptional shell, framed by large foliage scrolls and delicate garlands of flowers. This mirror retains its original base as well as a thick glittery mercury mirror, precious witnesses to its authenticity. A very decorative piece, it can be presented full-length in an entrance hall, placed on the floor, hung as an ornamental mirror or used as a trumeau above a fireplace. The marks of time on the tin and gilding give it a unique charm, reinforcing its character and presence.
