“Together” – Hand-carved wooden sculpture by Jozef Kets, Belgium, 1971

This hand-carved wooden sculpture by Jozef Kets captures a timeless moment of intimacy and human connection. Two stylized figures stand intertwined, reduced to pure geometric rhythm yet deeply emotional in presence. The piece reveals Kets’ mastery in balancing solidity and void the interplay of light through negative space giving life to the form. The dark, polished wood enhances the tactile quality and sculptural weight, while the abstraction gives the work a universal resonance a quiet reflection on unity and belonging. About the artist.
