Beautiful alpine peasant chair entirely made of solid wood, presumably oak or walnut, dated 1814. The openwork backrest, hand-carved, features a double heart shape with lateral scrolls and a central flower. It is adorned with a rectangular medallion carved with zigzag patterns framing the inscription "MSCHAMK 1814", likely the initials of the client or the carpenter accompanied by the year of manufacture — a rare marker of authenticity and traceability for this type of popular furniture. The rectangular seat with rounded corners rests on four strongly flared spindle legs, assembled with wooden tenons and dowels within the seat, according to traditional alpine carpentry techniques. The whole piece exhibits a beautiful old golden-brown patina, signs of wear, natural wood cracks, as well as some woodworm holes, consistent evidence of its great age and guarantees of its authenticity. Chair sold as is, ideal for a collection of folk art, ethnic decoration, or a country interior. Dimensions: H. 89 cm × W. 42 cm × D. 35 cm. Weight: 2 kg.
