19th-century cast iron staircase landing

Old cast iron stair starting post and its metal & brass ball - 110 cm. An old stair starting post (pilaster) made of cast iron, dating from the late 19th century. This architectural piece is topped with its metal ball with a brass ring. The shaft is elegantly crafted with relief patterns (scrolls and floral decorations) and features a very beautiful original brown patina. The metal ball provides a sober and powerful finish, typical of the grand residences of the time. • Materials: Cast iron body, metal ball, brass ring. • Dimensions: * Height: 110 cm. • Base: 11 X 11 cm (with original fixing holes) • Ball diameter: 8 cm. • Condition: Good state of preservation, sound structure, no cracks.
