Pair of "Dove" candlesticks in gilded bronze by Pierre Casenove / Fondica

Exceptional and rare pair of sculptural candle holders in gilded solid bronze, model "Dove", created by the famous French designer Pierre Casenove and published by the prestigious house Fondica in the 1990s. This is a true mirrored pair (one bird facing left, the other facing right). This asymmetrical configuration is particularly sought after by collectors and difficult to assemble. The zoomorphic design fits within the "neo-primitive" and poetic style characteristic of Casenove. The art bronze is not smooth, but intentionally textured and sculpturally worked to beautifully catch the light. Each candle holder is signed. Each candle holder bears the signature stamp "CASENOVE" and the mention "FONDICA FRANCE" embossed directly on the pyramid base. CONDITION & REPORTED DEFECT (For transparency): Very good overall vintage condition: The overall gilding is superb, bright, and retains all its original shine on the plumage. Defect to note: A small loss of gilding from use is present on the very tip of the beak of one of the two candle holders (see the dedicated close-up photo). This slight patina flaw is related to the wear of time on this protruding part. It is a minor and discreet defect that does not detract from the beauty of the sculpture, but is reported here for complete transparency with the buyer.
