Antique Japanese hand carved side table, Liberty London ca 1905

Another lovely example of the arts and crafts period from liberty london. These side tables who were meant to be tables for wine or lamps and are often described as plant stands ( for which they can easily be used of course ). They were made in japan and then disassembled for easy transportation ( hence the numbers on the back of certain parts, please see pic )they were then put together by the english when they reached the harbor. We've added an extract from their old catalogue for provenance. This table is in good condition considering it's age, with no real flaws or defects although it does show it's age ( which is over 100 years ). We have more liberty london side tables listed so please see our other items fro more models. The top is almost always a little bent over the years due to the difference in temperatures but fully functional.
