Expressionist oil still-life by swedish painter ulla lisa borgström(1918-1999). It was painted by an artist in 1960's. Signed ub in the lower left corner. Made in oil technique on canvas glued to the panel. In an original period setting. Ulla lisa borgström, born july 2, 1918 in malmö sankt pauli parish, died october 4, 1999 in vombs parish, was a swedish artist. She was the daughter of the master painter hilding borgström and ebba andersson-rydén. Borgström studied at the scanian school of painting in malmö and with gotthard sandberg and otte sköld as well as the forum graphic school in malmö under bertil lundberg's direction and during study trips to germany and france. She debuted in an exhibition with skåne's art association in 1939, then participated regularly in the association's exhibitions. She participated in the nordic female artists' exhibition at liljevalch's art gallery in 1948 and repeatedly with sweden's general art association. Together with eva holmberg-jacobson she exhibited in ystad in 1948 and together with gotthard sandberg and ejnar nettelbladt in skanör in 1949 and at galleri brinken in stockholm together with håkan sundström. Her art consists of interiors, still lifes and landscapes in oil or pastel. Borgström bequeathed money to an artists' foundation that awards scholarships to visual artists from scania.
