Regionalist work, around 1925-1930. This carved wooden panel depicts a naked woman seated in a stylised landscape. She holds a rod or sceptre while her left hand pours a stream evoking water or abundance. Beside her is a heart placed on an altar, a symbolic element that may evoke love, fidelity, or an allegory of feelings. The highly geometric treatment of the vegetation, the simplification of volumes, and the overall composition recall the Art Deco taste of the 1920s-1930s, even though the execution remains that of a craftsman or a regional workshop rather than an academic sculptor. The sculpture is made from an assembled oak board. The visible central split is the result of the natural shrinkage of the wood over time.
