Armchair by Thorbjörn Afdal for Bruksbo Nesjestranda Møbelfabrik, 1960

This impressive wing armchair was designed by Thorbjörn Afdal for Bruksbo Nesjestranda Møbelfabrik and manufactured in Norway during the 1960s. It is a rare model called Master. It has been upholstered in orange-coral fabric. This model has a detachable pillow on the seat. The diagonal frame is made from solid elm wood. This piece has been attributed based on archival documentation from Nesjestranda Møbelfabrik catalogue (see the photo). The armchair is in very good condition, has no defects, but it has natural patina and minor scrapes.
