1980s Cabinet “Amsterdammer” by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for Pastoe Netherl

Designed in the 1980s by Dutch designer Aldo van den Nieuwelaar for Pastoe, the Amsterdammer cabinet is a fine example of minimalist Dutch furniture design. Finished in a deep dark blue, its clean geometric form and carefully balanced proportions create a timeless and architectural appearance. Van den Nieuwelaar was known for reducing furniture to its essential elements, creating objects that were both practical and visually elegant. The Amsterdammer reflects this philosophy with its restrained design and strong graphic character. Produced by Pastoe, one of the Netherlands’ renowned furniture manufacturers, the cabinet fits effortlessly into both modern and vintage interiors. A sophisticated piece that demonstrates the enduring appeal of Dutch postmodern design. There is some minor damage to the sides, as shown in the photos, but it is not particularly distracting.
