Weight excluding packaging: 400 g. *gérard hofmann (1917–1965)* French painter and ceramist. Born in 1917, gérard hofmann began a career as a painter before turning to ceramics. In vallauris, he entered as a decorator in the ceramics workshop cérenne in vallauris. Charles rené neveux is the creator of this factory, which takes its name from the contraction of its corporate name "céramique rené neveux". Very active from 1949 to 1959, this workshop, which employs about fifty people including twenty decorators, produces utilitarian ceramics and unique pieces for france and internationally. From 1959, rené grout assisted by his son robert managed this factory until its closure in 1994. After 1959, gérard hofmann left 'cérenne' and opened with his wife christiane his own workshop, road from the col de saint antoine to vallauris.
