Vintage Art Deco commode, circa 1950s. The piece is made of walnut and features a beautiful chocolate/dark brown finish. Its style sits at the intersection of Art Deco and mid-20th century modernism (Mid-Century Modern), distinguished by clean lines, geometric symmetry, and minimalist tapered legs (see photos). The side panels rise above the top, giving the design elegance and lightness. The upper edge of these panels gently slopes downwards, creating a subtle geometric incline characteristic of Art Deco craftsmanship (see photos). The drawer fronts showcase a marquetry-style veneer pattern, forming a distinctive geometric design in the shape of a "V". The chrome "T" handles feature a striking horizontal and streamlined Art Deco design. The contrasting central bands, in a darker reddish-brown hue, beautifully stand out against the chrome and enhance the aesthetic of the furniture's facade. The piece is in good condition and vintage quality. It shows slight marks, signs of age, some areas of discolouration, and normal signs of use for its age, as well as a natural patina across the entire structure: top, side panels, edges, drawers, hardware, and legs. There are a few small marks on the front right side panel (at the foot) and some old traces or a repair on the lower part of the right side panel (see photos). A few marks are also visible near the drawer handles (see photos). The three drawers are clean and fully functional, although they show some light marks and signs of wear inside (see photos). Drawer dimensions: L 67 cm X D 33 cm X H 15 cm. The piece is solid and stable. It has simply been gently cleaned, oiled, waxed, and polished, respecting its original patina.
