Vintage Chinese Camphor Wood Chest, 2nd half 1900s

Vintage Chinese camphor wood chest from the second half of the 20th century. A charming and decorative Chinese chest made of camphor wood, which helps protect against moths. The lid features a beautifully detailed relief of traditional Chinese junks (sailing ships) sailing in a mountainous coastal landscape with a pagoda or watchtower in the background. The edges are decorated with a continuous floral and leaf motif. In the past, parts of the lid and near the left hinge have been glued. There is some wear to the lacquer all around, but it remains in solid condition.
