Pair of ÖIA Swedish Glass and Brass Wall Sconces 1960s

Pair of wall sconces designed and manufactured by the Swedish company ÖIA (Össjö Belysning) during the mid-20th century. Sconces feature a rectangular structure characterized by a thick, molded glass front panel with a distinctive high-relief pattern. The clear glass is formed into vertical rows of protruding oval lenses or bubbles, a design technique that effectively maximizes light refraction and creates a textured visual depth reminiscent of melting ice. Behind the heavy glass element lies a solid brass backplate that frames the fixture and adds a warm metallic contrast to the cool transparency of the glass.
