Square plate Pichon Uzès

Exceptional and very graphic square plate with a hollow shape made of artistic ceramic, from the famous historical manufacture Maison Pichon in Uzès (Gard, France). This piece bears the factory's stamp on the reverse as well as the signature of the artist painter-decorator "Verdame" traced in white enamel. The object immediately captures the eye thanks to its superb turquoise blue glaze speckled with a very deep black speckled effect. The front displays a hand-painted figurative decoration in its centre representing a squash (or pumpkin) in ochre, saffron, and yellow tones, beautifully highlighted by raised lines and strong black shadows. Maison Pichon, established in Uzès since 1802, is world-renowned for its pieces of art and tableware inspired by Provence.
