Wooden Ladies Desk by S.& H. Jewell, Late 19th Century

A piece of furniture veneered with wood, dating to the late 19th century. The rectangular form includes four small drawers and stands on slender legs. The desktop is covered in green leather with gold embossing, while the front of the desk is adorned with inlays of vases and garlands. The legs are fitted with brass casters. S.& H. Jewell is a family business founded in 1830 on Little Queen Street in Holborn, London.
