Very pretty small round vase in glazed terracotta, traditionally handcrafted in Slovakia, probably from Pozdišovce, bearing an incised mark or signature under the base that is difficult to read, seemingly forming the letters "AN". An antique from the 1920s-1930s, Art Deco period. Beautiful bulging shape with a wide flared neck, entirely hand-decorated with horizontal bands in white, black/dark brown, green, and grey on a brown background, featuring a central frieze of stylised yellow, blue, and green patterns. Fine and meticulous work. 16cm high and 16cm maximum diameter. Very good overall condition. Nothing notable apart from two micro-chips under the foot, one of which is slightly placed on the outer rim, both very discreet. Approximately 700g.
