This lithograph, “Aspects of Nature - The Sea,” is signed Henri Rivière in the lower left corner. The work is authentic and antique. Regarding its condition, there are some minor soiling and ink marks in the margins, small tears (0.5 cm to 2 cm), and creases. There are also some small stains in places on the lithograph itself. The lithograph is very vibrant in color; once framed, most of the imperfections will be barely noticeable. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career in drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet shows at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing them with highly innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself as a leading figure in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors). Our numerous photographs allow you to appreciate the quality of this lithograph. For condition details, please examine the photographs carefully. Feel free to zoom in.
