Set of four vintage French bistro chairs from the 1930s, consisting of two different but complementary models from the French manufacturers Mahieu and Guillaume. The set includes two Mahieu chairs and two Guillaume chairs. The Guillaume chairs retain their original labels indicating "Guillaume – 23 rue des Arènes – Bourges, " while the Mahieu chairs are also identified by their original labels. Made of beech wood, the four chairs feature traditional bentwood construction, moulded wooden seats, and fine vertical slatted backs. The two models differ slightly in their proportions and details, giving the set a varied yet cohesive appearance. The chairs maintain their aged finish and show visible variations in colour and patina. Marks, scratches, wear, and other signs of age and previous use are present, consistent with their history as French bistro furniture.
