Dining table 1800, chestnut and cherry, extensible 10 feet. Period: second half of the 19th century. Style: Luigi Filippo, eclectic, Umbertino. Provenance: Province of Salerno, southern Italy. Description: superb large dining table. Made with excellent choice of materials and solid construction techniques. It consists of a solid structure and a chestnut wood high, hard and compact solid wood widely used in the sector of table construction, while the legs are cherry wood noble wood more and with more aesthetic impact. The table has a shelf under the retractable top where the extensions are housed; they allow you to extend the floor up to 3 meters in length and can therefore "accommodate" up to 12/15 people. The elements that make up the extensions are those of origin in fir wood (numbered according to the position they must have) with external chestnut frames that integrate with the aesthetic line of the top. Simple and solid table mechanism that guarantees remarkable stability given the weight of the opening table. Restoration: completely original, only some elements of the frame that defines the strip under the tray that have been redone. Reconstruction of extensions and some frames.
