Pair of Regency cascade bookshelves in hardwood, 2.1 m in height.

We are pleased to offer for sale this very rare, important, and highly collectible pair of Regency waterfall bookcases from around 1810-1820, hand-carved with floral motifs, made of rosewood on a pine structure. The shelves are removable and height-adjustable. These bookcases are over 200 years old and show normal signs of age and use, including a square cut in the back panel of one of the bookcases that becomes invisible once the books are in place. Dimensions: height 210 cm, width 117 cm, depth 38 cm. They have been cleaned, waxed, and polished. Condition: wear consistent with age, minor losses, slight discolouration.
