Glazed lava coffee table – Jean & Robert Cloutier – Circa 1960

An elegant coffee table by artists Jean Cloutier (1930-2015) and Robert Cloutier (1930-2008), created around 1960. It features a black patinated wrought iron frame with a quadrangular base, connected by a tubular openwork strut, supporting a remarkable top made of enamelled lava tiles. The abstract geometric design, in shades of orange-red, black, and grey, is emblematic of the work of the Cloutier brothers. The top is monogrammed in the lower right corner, in accordance with the sale description and the productions of the Cloutier workshop.
