Black wrought iron curule stool

Curule stool in black wrought iron, with: X-shaped structure with curved saber-like legs — a form known as "curule" inspired by ancient Rome. Oval central crossbar connecting the two Xs — very elegant. Metal balls at the ends of the uprights — neat finish. Seat cushion in ecru/linen fabric, padded — clean and in good condition. Wrought or tubular metal of good thickness, matte black finish. Curule stool / campaign seat in neo-Roman style. Wrought iron, antique inspiration. Directoire / Empire style or 20th-century reissue. Probable period: 1960s–1990s (quality reissue) Or an antique piece from the 19th century if the iron is truly hand-forged. Dimensions: 50cm in height.
