Elegant Restoration period chest of drawers, dating from the 19th century, made of walnut burl and topped with an imposing black marble top. The front features a remarkable grain of burl, particularly dynamic and warm. It opens with four drawers, one of which is an upper drawer integrated into the waist, offering significant storage capacity. Its sober and balanced architecture, straight uprights, low plinth, and the natural richness of the veneer are characteristic of French furniture from the Restoration period. The chest retains a key that operates all the locks, which are all functional. The black marble top is intact, with no cracks or breaks. The piece shows a beautiful old patina as well as natural marks and nuances related to its age, fully contributing to its authenticity and character. Very good overall condition considering its age. There are signs of use, variations in colour, and patina consistent with a piece of nearly two centuries old. The marble top shows neither cracks nor breaks. An old piece that is particularly decorative, interesting for both the quality of its walnut burl and its generous proportions.
