Oil on canvas. The signature, the location Monza, and a dedication to a friend are present at the bottom left. The painter from Monza, Eugenio Spreafico, moved towards Verismo and Scapigliatura from 1881, joining the group of Realists from Monza, which included Mosè Bianchi, Emilio Borsa, and Pompeo Mariani. His interest then shifted to landscape painting, particularly of Monza and the Lombard countryside, as well as social themes like fieldwork, depicting workers immersed in nature, in a close figure-landscape relationship. Here is presented a view of a snow-capped alpine peak, with cows grazing in the green valley below. The canvas shows some small spots.
