Striking square coffee table by Mission Furniture Los Angeles, made in the Philippines, circa 1989. Constructed on a wooden frame fully clad in tessellated fossil stone in two tones — warm beige on the top surface and rose-tinted stone on the apron — with decorative brass inlay trim framing the top and detailing the corners. Chunky waterfall legs with brass sabots. A quintessential piece of late-1980s Hollywood Regency postmodernism. Condition: Honest wear consistent with age. The leg surfaces show surface scratches and minor scuffs throughout. One leg has a small chip in the stone veneer. Brass inlay retains its patina with some tarnishing. Structurally very solid. Original label no longer attached.
