Vintage ceramic duck tureen

This vintage colourful duck tureen is a beautiful example of traditional portuguese pottery. It was produced by secla, a ceramic factory opened in caldas da rainha, Portugal, in 1947. It is marked on the base. The acronym secla stands for sociedade de exportacao e ceramica lda, which presumably means that the majority of the production was destined to the foreign market, especially the us and the uk. In perfect condition. Width 16.3cm; height 18; depth 12.3cm.
