Vintage Chinese black lacquer cabinet soapstone, mother-of-pearl bohemia

DESCRIPTION: A unique Oriental cabinet. These cabinets originate from the 1970s, a period of revival for Chinoiserie. This style emerged in the mid-18th century, when entire castles were filled with Chinese and Eastern furniture and objects. During the 1970s, such furniture was made and each piece is unique. All elements are applied by hand, always giving it an artistic touch. You can clearly see the hand-painted lines. It is painted on all sides, even inside. The paintings depict traditionally dressed women made of soapstone and mother-of-pearl, wandering in landscapes with temples and plants. Similar figures are also applied inside with soapstone. Bamboo paintings are made on the lower doors and the top. The upper cabinet space was originally for a TV, with an extra shelf above. The lower cabinet space has a removable shelf in the middle. In short, a beautiful cabinet for an Asian or Bohemian interior.
