Grand Antique Carved and Hand-Painted Fireplace Mirror, Birman Liberty's London

We are delighted to offer for sale a magnificent Victorian fireplace mirror with original glass, featuring a hand-carved and painted frame, sold by Liberty's London during the period 1890-1900. This mirror is truly impressive; the size does not come across well in the photos, but it is extra large. The condition is exquisite, the glass is free from cracks and shows a slight haze or spots as expected, probably mercury glass with a bluish tint. The reflection has been changed in the photos, but the actual colour is stunning. An original painted piece, with no later modifications, the carving must have taken weeks or even months. Dimensions: height 143 cm, width 168 cm, depth 6 cm. Available for collection from our warehouses in Pulborough. The condition is good with wear consistent with age and use, slight discolouration.
