American administration desk of very fine quality. Made of solid oak and oak plywood, from the 1940s-50s. Ideal for a comfortable home office desk, for example. Adult desk featuring a main drawer on the left, with a beautifully crafted front. The lock is present but there is no key. On the right, there is a column of three drawers (the last two at the bottom forming one with a false front, allowing for the filing of documents without compromising the overall aesthetics of the desk). All open with their solid wood handles. There was an automatic locking system for the drawers (still present, it has been neutralised as it worked with the closure of the left drawer, which no longer has its key). These details were always present on genuine administration desks, as they ensured the integrity of an employee's work. This one is of very fine quality, made from beautiful wood with lovely grain (notably on the back), with all sides veneered (so it can be placed in the middle of a room, it has no unfinished side), featuring a beautiful foot rail secured by an original high-quality wooden system and screws (it ensures the stability of the left side by attaching it to the overall structure of the desk). It also has not one but two retractable solid wood pull-outs, one on the right above the drawers and the other on the left. This creates a nice ensemble when they are open, and it is very practical for working. The top is in superb condition, with some signs of wear due to time, like the rest of the furniture which is in its original patina and in excellent overall condition - ready for use. L: 105 cm. D: 69 cm. H: 76.5 cm. Leg space: 55.5 cm X 60 cm. It allows an adult (1.80 m) to sit on a standard chair without any discomfort. The price is firm, thank you.
