Illustration under frame of a delaunay belleville car by georges lepape. At the beginning of 1900, delaunay belleville luxury cars were the french equivalent of rolls. This illustration comes from the 1924 catalogue published by draeger: description of the delaynay belleville chassis followed by an essay on the different ways of bodiing them, by benito, lelong, lepape, martin, ruhlmann. Georges lepape, art deco illustrator, has collaborated with vogue, vanity fair, harper's bazaar, among others. Gilded painted wood frame and glass protection. Signature: lepape. Text: the colors of the bodywork. It would seem that only black automobiles are elegant and that a mourning uniform necessarily comes to sadden the fashion that governs them. Leaving it to others to revolt against the outdated hoods and bodies, lepape evokes only the fantasy of colors. The colors of the bodywork by lepape. Good vintage condition. Note, the corners of the illustration are damaged. Hole in the wood of the frame to hang it. Please take a good look at the descriptive photographs. You can enlarge them. Circa: 1924. Measures of the framework: Height: 40 cm / 15.74 in. Width: 38 cm / 14, 96 in. Three illustrations are available in store. *for delivery by mondial relay in france.
