Very beautiful watercolor by claude lyr, Claude lyr (pseudonym of claude vanderhaeghe) is a belgian artist born in 1916 in pessac-lez-bordeaux/france and died in 1995 in uccle. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist, graphic designer. Son of rené lyr. Training at the brussels academy under j. Albert (1933-1938). Founded the engraving course of this academy in 1956. Trip to italy, the belgian congo (1955-1956) and the united states. Was a professor at the academy of brussels from 1956 to 1962, became director at the school of fine arts of ixelles and then at the academy of brussels (1978-1981).
