Stool shoeshine chest in formica and chromed metal

This chest stool has certainly already had many lives! Originally, it was a shoeshine stool, that is to say that it allowed the customer of the shoeshine to put his foot on it and the shoeshine to store his brushes and polishes. The top is in red formica, weaving effect, which makes it possible to date it from the 60s or 70s. When he arrived at my house, the tray was covered with an unbleached paint not very attractive. I was just thinking of repainting it, but when I discovered that it was formica underneath, I chose to scrape off the successive layers of paint (three in total, which took many hours and a lot of elbow grease!). The trunk is made of wood, the base in chromed metal with its black plastic pads. It is in good structural condition, solid, but does not hide the marks of its age and its successive uses: a slight sway in empty, scratches on the top, small remains of paint on the top of the black plastic belt typical of formica furniture, some points of corrosion on the base and hinge. The trunk will probably need to be repainted because it has stains and gaps on the white paint, clearly visible, inside and out. Having not been able to decide on a color, I sell it for the moment as it is. It measures 45 cm in height, the seat is a square of 28.5 cm side. It weighs about 3 kg.
