Beautiful pair of wingback lounge chairs, model 'Karen', designed by Arnold Madsen & Henry Schubell for Bovenkamp, Netherlands, 1960. These sculptural chairs reflect the successful collaboration between Danish design sensibilities and Dutch craftsmanship. Madsen was commissioned by Bovenkamp at the end of the 1950s to bring refined Danish design to their production line, resulting in a unique and elegant collection. The 'Karen' model features a solid oak frame with gently curved teak armrests, showcasing a beautiful contrast in materials. The high, winged back and sculpted lines offer a striking silhouette, while the generous proportions provide excellent comfort. Both chairs have been fully restored and reupholstered in high-quality Richwool fabric, preserving their original character and ensuring they are ready for modern use. Marked with the Bovenkamp stamp beneath the seat. Priced and sold as a pair.
