Antique curved wooden coat rack in the Thonet style, 1875.

Just arrived at the Workshop is this elegant curved wooden coat rack, a superb production from the late 19th century. This model, known as the "parrot," is emblematic of steam-bent wooden furniture (in the style of Thonet or Jacob & Josef Kohn). Its lines are refined, organic, and timeless. A true witness to history, the date 1875 is embossed on the back of the central post, attesting to its authenticity. Its crowned head features 6 large curved upper hooks and 6 lower secondary hooks, providing ample capacity for your coats, hats, bags, and accessories. The entire piece rests on a very stable four-legged base, reinforced by a curved wooden circle at the bottom. Very old yet in very good overall condition. We love its original patina, warm and authentic. Some slight signs of use remain visible, testifying to its rich history and 150 years past. This characterful coat rack will find a prime spot in an entrance, a bedroom, or even a dressing room.
