Antique pine coffee table, Central European rural furniture with a painted base, originating from Central Europe and dated around 1900. It comes from Central Europe, from the late 19th century, where rural coffee tables were crafted from solid pine with a large cut-out top and bases painted in light tones. In the rural homes of Central Europe, large coffee tables served versatile functions: kneading bread, serving cold cuts, or preparing preserves. Their ample top and lightweight base made them suitable for communal use around a unique room. Constructed from solid pine with an oval or cut-out profile top, formed from longitudinal boards joined at the edge. The base extends on four turned legs painted white, united by perimeter stretchers. The joinery is straightforward, and the base shows the chromatic contrast between the raw pine of the top and the light paint of the legs. Details.
