Jumo, a French brand founded in Paris in 1944, is one of the most recognisable signatures of modern post-war lighting. Specialising in articulated desk lamps, the company produced for three decades models in bakelite, lacquered metal and telescopic tubes. Its Bolide lamp, identified by its chromed shell body and swivelling arm, equipped French offices during the post-war boom, and today becomes one of the most sought-after vintage lighting pieces of French industrial design. The Jumo Bolide lamp, particularly its chromed body models edited in the 1950s and 60s, remains the house's most iconic piece.
