Vilbert chair by Verner Panton, for Ikea 1993

Verner panton is one of the most influential figures in the history of design, pushing the boundaries of form and materials in the 1960s and 1970s. Launched in 1993 by ikea and produced for just one year, verner panton's iconic "vilbert" chair is the epitome of postmodernity. Initially, 3, 000 to 4, 000 vilbert chairs were put in stores by mass producer ikea, but sales were not as good as expected. Many chairs have been removed from stores, and it is said that chairs have even been removed from production to be destroyed. Today, these chairs have become rare objects, reaching record prices at auctions. This chair is in excellent original condition, it has hardly ever been used for sitting. It is made of high-quality melamine cardboard, shows only slight signs of wear and still has the remains of the sticker on the back.
