Description
Carved wood screen, marked and lacquered. The sculptures depict birds in foliage (flowers, leaves). The central panels are embedded on one side, on the theme of birds of prey /raptors (eagles, falcons, buzzards). Raptors are placed on branches, ready to hunt small birds. On the other side the panels are painted / lacquered, you see a landscape. Art of shibayama, japan, meiji era, circa 1890. Medium state, small gaps, traces of restorations.
