Description
This is a handsome victorian pine sideboard which dates to the late 1800s. It is large, solid and very heavy, a well made piece of antique furniture which could form part of a free standing kitchen. The sideboard is quite substantial and its height is perfect for use as a worktop in a kitchen. This piece has a rustic country look which will suit a large farmhouse or cottage, the perfect piece of furniture for anyone who loves well aged pine. The sideboard has two pairs of panelled doors to the front which are set under spacious drawers finished with large turned handles. The right hand drawer is partitioned and is lined with red gingham paper. The cupboard doors open to reveal large interior spaces with fixed shelves for storage. The top of the sideboard is made of a very thick piece of pine. The wood has a naturally waxed finish which has quite a matt finish. Condition. The sideboard is generally in good structural condition with many small marks of age and use to the wood. There is evidence of old historical woodworm damage to the bottom of the back and to the left hand cupboard doors and base. The top has three filled areas, the sideboard would have once had a top and formed the base of a dresser. Measurements. Height- 93.5cms. Width- 190cms at the top, 182.5cms at the base. Depth- 51cms.
