Crocheted tetex carpet / germany. Based on drawing by kirman vase xviith. Due to the massive demand and limited supply of persian and caucasian rugs in europe in the 1920s and 1930s, the manufacture of these crocheted rugs expanded to fill the void. Inspired by oriental designs of carpets highly sought after by collectors and museums. Unique works of art. Dimensions: 237x170 cm. Condition: the carpet is in good condition, there is however a stained central line darkened or clear depending on the direction of the carpet.
