Yomoud Turkems carpet, 162x213cm

Wool rug on wool of the nomadic and semi-nomadic yomoud turkmen tribe from turkmenistan or uzbekistan, areas occupied by these populations. This carpet from the second part of the 19th century is in good condition with some wear due to its age. The colors, of natural origin are typical of yomouds, orange, black, white, parma and raspberry. We find on our model the characteristic of these old carpets, the kilim band folded inside and called "alam" which was used to protect the beginning of the carpet, the other side ending in fringes. The geometric décor consists of a semi of diamonds covered with many stylized flowers and two large planks regularly sown with triangles and geometric tribal shapes. The border consists of a drawing of stylized ram horns, batônnets. The whole design as well as the shades used present a modernity and spontaneity, specific to this type of carpet and to all the carpets of the different turkmen tribes. Dimensions: width 162 cm (5'4" X length: 213 cm (7' ) This carpet has been cleaned professionally and environmentally.
