D70 sofa by Osvaldo Borsani, Tecno

Superb sofa d70 sofa bed by the famous designer osvaldo borsani for tecno in 1955. Of italian manufacture, this piece is an innovation rewarded at the triennale of milan of 1954 by the diploma of honor. Some of tecno's first designs can also be found in the permanent collections of moma in new york, the victoria & albert museum in london and the centre pompidou in paris. The foams and fabrics were redone by a professional upholsterer. Many combinations of backrest and seat positions are possible, as the latter can be adjusted separately, including in a horizontal position as an extra bed or "folded" to be stored. Edited by tecno, the d70 has thus become an iconic object proposed for the house but also in spaces of representation or reception... The design of the sofa is refined, all in finesse with its integrated system, in the seat and backrest, allowing a multitude of possible positions. An emblematic piece of italian design and its creator that has allowed the publisher tecno to affirm its innovative and avant-garde spirit.
