Psyche empire in mahogany, early nineteenth century

Psyche mirror in solid mahogany and plated with triangular pediment in the antique and feet carved in the shape of claws / legs of animal (sphinx, lion). The bronze parts are on the theme of nature (flowers and leaves on the pediment, hazelnuts on the sides). Mercury ice is original. Interesting for its unusual size, probably made to order for a privileged child. Empire style, france, early nineteenth century. In the taste of the productions of pierre-benoit marcion and the jacob brothers. Good general condition: some of the stitched mirror (normal for its age), some small gaps in veneer and traces of discreet restorations on two of the feet (collage). Height 128 cm. Width 58 cm.
