Antique chaise longue in wicker and hazel 20s

This beautiful chaise longue from another age, reminds us of a painter in a canoeist and his easel, sketching the aiguille creuse d'etretat. Ladies with long pants and charlotte ready for a decent sea bath. The umbrellas, the sun, the art deco verandas... Of all this remain only a few objects testifying to this ancient art of living, such as this chaise longue of the 20s. Its structure is raw, authentic, like these irregular unworked hazel branches. The seat and backrest are made of gridded wicker splices. The studded joints are reinforced with curved rattan chopsticks. All this has been done by hand with attention to detail, comfort and aesthetics. The backrest is tiltable until it is almost lying down thanks to metal notches located on the rear legs. The retractable footrest can be removed and stored under the chaise longue which becomes an armchair. The whole thing is cleverly foldable so as not to take up too much space while waiting for the sunny days. In a garden, on a balcony in summer, or in a veranda and a winter garden, this antique chaise longue is the perfect companion for reading, resting, reflecting, in a retro environment. The chair bears traces of time. The wicker has patinated by sunbathing with some dark traces. One of the armrests is slightly twisted and has a lack of rattan strand (see photo), but it remains comfortable. The visual of the set remains very beautiful and the chair is perfectly functional and solid. We washed out and treated the entire chair with natural products and special oils. Height: 1.10 m.
