Rob Parry for Gelderland Model 2281 lounge chair, The Netherlands 1950's

Rey metal frame and wooden arm rests have been refinshed. With new dark blue/ purple upholstery and new filling. Seat height39 cm, seat depth50 cm, seat width50 cm. With minimal use of materials, parry managed to make an elegant and spacious design. The combination of these properties and the use of metal is a perfect example of dutch mid-century modern design. In his career he designed many items. Famous are for example his lotus lounge chair and sofa, f& t dining or side chair, coffee table and parlez dining table. Together with friso kramer, martin visser, cees braakman and wim rietveld, rob parry is among the best and famous designers of the dutch midcentury.
